What is Cub Scouts All About?

Scouting offers a range of programs designed for specific ages.  Members can start at any level without any prior experience.

Tiger Cubs

The Tiger Cub Program is designed to build stronger families through involvement in a simple, low-cost program that is flexible and fun for  boy and adults. A shared leadership, where a Den Leader works with teams of boys and their adult partners, gives everyone input to the planning and carrying out of activities.

 Cub Scouts

Cub Scouting is a program designed to meet the needs of young boys and their parents. The program offers activities to challenge them  and develop character. Cub Scouting provides programs to first graders (Tiger Cubs), second and third graders (Cub Scouts), and fourth and fifth graders (Webelos Scouts)

Cub Scouting has been developed especially for parents of sons who are of Cub Scout age. Cub Scouting:

·                          Teaches a boy respect for his God, his country, his home, and for other people. The ideals and activities of the Cub Scout contribute to the fullest appreciation of American citizenship.

·                          Gives opportunities for activities--games, crafts, nature, collections, stunts, hobbies--in the Cub Scout's own neighborhood with trained and caring leaders and friends old and new.

·                          Offers opportunities to do things for others and to learn personal responsibility.

Purpose of Cub Scouting

Cub Scouting is for parents, leaders, and organizations to use with boys in the first through fifth grade (or 7 -10 years of age) for the purpose of:

·                          Helping build character and encouraging spiritual growth.

·                          Developing habits and attitudes of good citizenship.

·                          Encouraging good sportsmanship and pride in growing strong in mind and body.

·                          Improving understanding within the family.

·                          Strengthening the ability to get along with other boys and respect other people.

·                          Fostering a sense of personal achievement by developing new interests and skills.

·                          Showing how to be helpful and to do one's best.

·                          Preparing them to become Boy Scouts
